Trial details
- Who can trial: Boys & Girls turning 13 to 17 in 2027
- When:: Monday 26 October to Friday 4 December 2026. The first session is on Labour Day. See specific session times below.
- How often: Every Monday and Friday, same time each session
- Fee: $56.35 per player
- Squads announced: 6 December 2026
Note: U17's will remain in tournament mode during part of the trial window; scheduling will be adjusted accordingly.

How trials will work
- Weeks 1 to 4: skills and drills.
- Weeks 5 and 6: 11v11 games.
Players need to attend at least half the sessions to be considered for selection. If you know you'll miss sessions, let us know by emailing office@northernroversfc.org.nz
Every trialist receives a report card at the end, whether or not they're selected.
After selection
- December. Selected players receive an off-season fitness programme to follow over summer.
- February. Pre-season starts. Grade 15 boys, Grade 17 boys and Grade 15/16/17 girls complete a fitness test to confirm their place.
- Season start. League start dates depend on the 2027 Northern Region Football calendar, which hasn't been released yet. We'll confirm as soon as it is.
Selected players then complete a full club registration for 2027. 2027 TDP fees will be confirmed by 1 October 2026.
