​​​​​​​North Otago Sports Bodies Association promotes and recognises achievement, participation and contribution to sports in North Otago through the annual Network Waitaki Sports Awards, regular sports volunteer acknowledgments and the North Otago Sports Hall of Fame (housed at the Waitaki Community Recreation Centre).

The primary objects of the association are to:

a) promote sport and recreational activities in the North Otago region

b) encourage participation and achievement in sport and recreational activities in North Otago

c) recognise achievers at appropriate functions

d) represent and promote the interests of members of the Association

e) do any act or thing incidental or conducive to the attainment of any of the above objects

Network Waitaki Sports Awards

These annual awards are held in May and celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions within the Waitaki district sporting community. 

Organised by North Otago Sports Bodies in partnership with Sport Waitaki, the awards recognise the efforts of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators, and teams who have made a positive impact across the district.

Annual inductions, held alongside the Network Waitaki Sports Awards. This is housed at the Waitaki Community Recreation Centre.

A Special General Meeting of the North Otago Sports Bodies Assn will be held at 5.15pm at the Waitaki Community Recreation Centre on Monday 23 February 2026. Network Waitaki Sports Awards 2026

The 2026 Network Waitaki Sports Awards and Sports Hall of Fame induction event will be held on May 21, 2026. 

Nominations are now OPEN! Submit a nomination here.

Nominations  close on April 5, at 11.59pm. Click on the "Network Waitaki Sports Awards" tab to access the online or manual nomination forms, and nomination guidelines. 

Please note that we are changing the eligibility timeframe to align with the wider Otago sports awards calendar. The nomination period for the 2025 -26 year will be 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2026, thereafter 1 April to 31 March annually.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
