Robin Jamieson - Ace Tennis

Ace Tennis offers tennis pathways to Waitaki players of all ages and abilities from beginners, social players, to more advanced players. Players learn and develop their tennis skills in a fun environment through the Tennis NZ national programmes: Hot Shots, Tennis Xpress, and Cardio Tennis. Robin offers both private and group lessons to those who want to grow their game.

Robin has been playing tennis since he was about 10 years old. He has represented North Otago in tennis for more than 25 years, and has won various local and regional singles and doubles titles.

After leaving Waitaki Boys' High School, Robin completed a certificate in fitness industry training in Christchurch before coming back to Oamaru.

In recent years, he has been involved in our junior programme in Waitaki to help grow and develop the junior tennis players here in North Otago. He continues to play tennis himself socially and competitively and is training to be a registered NZ Junior Development Coach (JDC) and an International Tennis Federation (ITF) level 1 coach, delivering:

  • Hot Shots (beginner tennis for ages 3-12)
  • Cardio Tennis
  • Tennis Xpress (beginner adults)
  • Tennis in schools
  • Inclusive tennis working with people with disabilities.

Robin is also a trained court referee.

Robin likes to incorporate the latest in training technology and equipment in our sessions depending on the player's age and ability―whether it be using low-compression red, orange, and green balls, the Top Spin Pro, or just hitting lots of tennis balls―to keep the lessons fun, interactive with everyone having a positive experience on the court.

Whether you want to get out on the court and have some fun as a group in Cardio Tennis, or grow your game through Hot Shots or Tennis Xpress, Robin would love to hear from you. Register or book a session through his website: https://acetennis.co.nz/
