Northern Region Football is proud to welcome Auckland FC, and is looking forward to working with them to create connections with the football community.
“From the Rangitoto emblem on the badge to the blue on the shirt, the connection with Auckland is genuine. Football people can’t wait to be involved - the chance to turn Aucklanders into Black Knights whānau starts now,” said NRF CEO Laura Menzies.
NRF is delighted to be working at grassroots level to facilitate relationships between AFC and the football community across Auckland and Northland, with one meeting with a number of clubs held in February and more in the works.
“Clubs want to know what the plans are and how they work alongside the new franchise. Our own professional team creates a new pathway for our players, and an exciting chance for clubs to engage their members.”
Auckland FC are committed to being a club for all, regardless of background, which aligns closely with NRF and its network of clubs’ values.

“AFC CEO Nick Becker’s korero about football clubs being part of the social fabric resonates deeply with us. Creating opportunities for all clubs to be involved and feel connected to Auckland FC is central to the NRF team’s role supporting football in our region,” said Laura Menzies.
“We couldn’t agree more that there’s never been a more exciting time to be part of football in Auckland. Playing numbers are up and there’s a passionate community of players, clubs and fans waiting to get behind the team.”
