Northern Region Football

Northern Region Football is excited to be able to offer Futsal as structured leagues by region in Auckland to represent the sports tremendous growth and popularity over the past few years in the Secondary School sports landscape. Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports in Secondary School aged participants in New Zealand. In 2016, Futsal had over 300% growth in Secondary School aged participation, and as of 2021 has risen to the 11th most participated sport for students of this age.

Senior Championship 2024 - Akau Tangi Sports Centre, Wellington

This is the premier level of futsal secondary schools held for Senior Boys and Senior Girls.

Due to grades not reaching capacity in 2023, all teams that participated in 2023 will have the option of attending in 2024 if they wish alongside the top three placed teams from the 2023 Northern Regional Cup. If remaining spaces are available, other schools will be able to register until capacity is reached.

Competition Dates:

Senior Girls: Monday 18th March - Wednesday 20th March
Senior Boys: Wednesday 20th March - Friday 22nd March

Entry Criteria

All schools that participated in 2023 competition will be invited to 2024 competition directly by NZF Communications
The top three placed teams from Northern Regional Cup
If there is still available entries it will be on a first in basis
Entry Cost: $695.00 + GST

Northern Regional Cup 2024 - Mercury Arena, Tauranga

This is a satellite tournament that creates a pathway to the Championship event. It has an increased development focus, perfect for schools that are more local or newer to futsal. Grades include Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls

Wednesday 20th March - Friday 22nd March

Entry Criteria

Open entry to all interested schools. Limited entries available (16 teams per grade)
Schools that enter Championships can also enter a team into the Regional Cup
Schools that perform well at the Regional Cups will receive an invitation to participate in the 2025 Championships event, if they wish
Entry Cost: $695.00 + GST
