Head Coach Profile: Ivan Docherty

Ivan began rowing for the Oamaru Rowing Club in 1987 where he would remain for seven seasons as an active rower. During his time with the Club Ivan was successful with seven national podium finishes including a National title in the coxed fours. Ivan was selected for two New Zealand Trials while being selected into the New Zealand under 23 lightweight coxless four crew in 1994. 

With his son Logan taking up the sport in 2016 he became involved with the sport once again and teamed up with long time successful Club coach Owen Gould. 

Ivan has a passion for the sport of rowing but equally for guiding young athletes to enjoy their time on the water

Ivan sets high standards for his athletes while encouraging them to work hard towards reaching their potential.​​​​​​​
