2026 Junior Registrations are Open

This year we along with all other clubs and schools in New Zealand will be continuing to use the regustration system Rugby Xplorer. Some of you may have already created a Rugby Xplorer profile last season, if you already have a profile for your player you can simply register them for the new season, if not please create a Rugby Xplorer profile for each player and then register them to the club (Parents it is simpler to create yourself a profile, then link your children's profiles to your profile so they are all under 1 email address) please follow the below link to register for Papamoa Rugby Club

When you register on Rugby Xplorer please be prepared to enter a passport style photo of your player as you will need to include that in order to finish the registration.

2026 Junior Rugby will NOT be weight restricted, this means we will not need to see you to register unless your player is wishing to play down a grade, in which case weight restrictions will apply and you will need to attend one of the below dates in order to be weighed. A reminder that this season the rugby grading system is now done in School Years - so Under 6 Rippa is now known as Year 1 etc. We would like players to play predominately in their school grades this keeps players with their peers.

Weigh In, Uniform Sales and Info Days

Sunday 8th March 1.30pm - 4pm

Wednesday 18th March 3.30pm - 5pm

Looking forward to seeing you all

Year 1 and 2 Rippa Rugby

Year 1 - 5 aside ripper rugby. Saturday morning at Arataki Park will consist of a 20 minute training/skills session followed by two 5 aside 20 minute games, one against each other and one against another club. The BOPRU would prefer this age group do not have mid week trainings but this is ultimately up to the coach. This is the grade to enter your player in if they have not yet started school or are a Year 0.

Year 2 - 7 aside ripper rugby. Smaller squads this year as only 7 on the field. Otherwise the format will be the same as last year with one game on a Saturday vs another club team at Arataki Park.

The junior committee may be in a position after registrations where we need to cap team numbers, so to avoid teams having too many players in one team. It is a challenging task getting the balance right between providing opportunities for all to play and ensuring ample playing time for on field participation but we will do our best once we know the player numbers for each grade.  The best thing for you to do is register as soon as you can.

Please also consider that Rugby is a team sport - and whilst we appreciate children change their minds, please only register your child if they can commit to playing the whole season, its very hard to put together teams and turn away players only to have players drop out mid-season and find ourselves short on numbers, no refunds will be processed for players who change their minds.

**PLEASE REGISTER YOUR CHILD AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE AND NOTE THERE WILL BE NO ALLOWANCES FOR LATE REGISTRATIONS - We are limited to providing teams that we can find coaches for.
