Come and give it a try first!

Pāuatahanui Pony Club is based at the beautiful Battle Hill Farm Forest Park on Paekākāriki Hill Road in Porirua.

We are lucky enough to have custom built clubrooms for our riders to meet, study for certificates, display their achievements, as well as just hang out with each other.

We are also very fortunate to have the use of such lovely grounds where space is not an issue, and riders can gain confidence riding in a large open area over a range of terrain.

Our rallies continue year round although it is a little quieter in winter, and occasionally rallies need to be held off-site when the grounds at Battle Hill are unavailable. Battle Hill is after all a working farm and from 1 August to Labour Day in October, the grounds are closed for the lambing season. Fortunately there are many arenas available to us to hire during the wetter months like the Riding for the Disabled arena, the Grays Road arena and of course we can venture to the beach as well.

The club has a membership of around 25, aged from 6-18 years, so a good spread of junior and senior riders. Oh and let's not forget our amazing coach Kate Fleming who rides competitively as does our District Commissioner Pip Sim! So good for our riders to see these ladies out leading the way and sharing their vast experience.

We have beginner riders starting out on their 'D and D+' certificate levels, several riders working on their 'C and C+' certificates and a few riders working towards their B certification level. The club encourages all riders to work towards the certificates offered by NZPCA and have a programme in place to help riders keep on track to achieve these goals.

Most importantly we have a lot of fun. We know each other well, all pitch in and help, and our young riders enjoy being part of a fun and friendly community.

We'd love to have you join us.
