ON AND OFF DIAMOND BEHAVIOUR
A. Code of Conduct All players and officials shall take positive steps to maintain WSA while associated with or playing in any Wellington Representative teams or any teams affiliated to WSA. Disciplinary action may be taken against any player, member or team. Unacceptable behavior includes any conduct in breach of the following rules:
Players must not assault, or attempt an assault or otherwise threaten any player, umpire, official or spectator.
Players must not abuse or dispute, as distinctive from question, an umpires decision, or react in an obvious provocative or disapproving manner following an umpiring decision.
Players must not use abusive language.
Players must not use crude or abusive hand signals.
Umpires and Officials must not engage or continue in any unacceptable behaviour that is encouraging or be seen to continue confrontations with players.
Smoking and drinking alcohol on the field of play is at all times prohibited and this applies to player/ umpires while they are officiating.
Players must not engage in public acts of misconduct or unruly public behavior while representing Wellington or their Club.
B. Zero Tolerance Policy A registered participant in organised softball or any spectator will not indulge in any unsportsmanlike behaviour towards other participants, spectators or officials involved in a recognised softball activity including organised training and will adhere to the relevant Code of Conduct/Ethics and Member Protection Policy.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour will include, but not be limited to:
Verbal abuse and threats
Physical abuse and/or assault
Discrimination
Harassment
Making derogatory statements or gestures
Cheating
Visible dissention of a decision of an umpire or official in an unsportsmanlike manner
