SENIOR BASKETBALL
Basketball is offered at Year 11 - 13 level dependent on sufficient numbers and the availability of parents/staff to coach and/or manage the teams.

COMMITMENT Games are played at the Rotorua Sportsdrome on a Thursday night . Players need to be at the Sportsdrome 15 minutes prior, to register and warm-up. Throughout the season the schools are rostered on to do duty. You will be given information regarding this from the association and each team will arrange this amongst themselves.
The Senior team plays in the Senior section of the Collegiate League via the Rotorua Basketball Association, Queens Drive, Rotorua.
Each team must provide a qualified umpire to referee one game per night. Failure to do so will result in the team being fined - this amount will be billed to the players. If there is no player willing to ref from the junior teams then the team may need to hire a qualified umpire at their own expense. All players are encouraged to attend the free reffing course held at school by Rotorua Basketball Association.
UNIFORM School Basketball uniform will be issued out pre-season and must be returned and signed back into the Sports Co-ordinator once the season has finished. If they are not returned students will be charged the full replacement cost of the uniform. Good non-slip sports shoes and a water bottle are needed for both practice and games. A clear mouth guard will be provided upon fees payment and MUST be worn during games (as per NZ Basketball regulations). Skins are not permitted to be worn underneath uniform.
