MID-WEEK ELLESMERE TENNIS COMPETITION:

(TUESDAY & THURSDAY NIGHTS)

Tuesday & Thursday Night Doubles Competition is the largest Competition run in Ellesmere for Seniors.  There are around 100 teams entered across both evenings and covers ALL grades from Beginners to Advance Players.  

The Grades are: 

Tuesday Nights - Division 1 (Top Advanced Players), Division 2 (Advance Players), Division 3 (Social but Competitive) & Division 4 (Beginners / Social Players).

Thursday Nights - Division 2 (Top / Advance Players), Division 3 (Social but Competitive) & Division 4 (Beginners / Social Players).

Both evenings are run on a time limit of 3 x 30 minute games.

Games start at 6:30pm and Finish at 8pm.  The matches are Doubles Only, so NO Singles games.

Games are played all throughout the Selwyn District, so one week you might be playing in Rolleston, then the next week in Southbridge etc..........

When you enrol with Rolleston Tennis Club, we get you to specify your playing ability and then we will put you in a team of 4-5 players and then we will enter your team into a grade based on your playing ability.  This will then be your team for the whole summer season.

You are also eligible to put together your own team, and then register the team when registrations are open. (Note: each player still has to individually register, but specify on the registration form, who you are in a team with)

Season commences at the start of October through to Middle of December.  We then break for Xmas Holidays and start back up around the end of January through to Middle / End of March.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTERCLUB COMPETITION:

​​​​​​​Saturday Interclub starts at 1 pm each week. Games typically finish by 5 pm, though timing may vary.

The format is Doubles Only — Singles matches are not included.

Each player participates in three matches, with each match played first to 9 sets.

Competition is divided into two grades: Division 1 and Division 2.

Games are played all throughout the Selwyn District, so one week you might be playing in Rolleston, then the next week in Tai Tapu, Lincoln, or Southbridge etc..........

WE DO HOLD A GRADING DAY IN SEPTEMBER, IF REQUIRED, FOR ALL NEW MEMBERS.  THIS IS SO WE CAN ENSURE YOU ARE PLACED IN A TEAM WITH MEMBERS OF SIMILAR PLAYING ABILITIES.

*Rolleston Tennis Club provides all our teams with new balls, so you will be playing with a new set of balls every time you play on a Tuesday / Thursday and/or Saturday.

*You can play either Tuesday / Thurday Night or Saturday or you can play all three if you want.

*Membership Fee for the whole season is $140.00 Per Person.
