Sailability Rotorua

Making Sailing availible to everyone...

Sailability Rotorua  (Bay of Plenty Disabled Sailing Trust) is a 'not for profit', volunteer-based organisation, offering sailing opportunities to anyone with a disability.

Our Mission

"To promote sailing to people from all backgrounds and abilities, to improve their physical and mental health. We do this by challenging and supporting them in developing new skills. This increases the individuals confidence, sense of achievement and self-esteem."

Sailability Rotorua provides sailing opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities,

Participants learn new skills about water safety, how to rig our boats, and observe weather patterns. Some learn to sail the boats themselves. The aim is to provide a safe and fun sailing experience.

Sailing is a great family sport, and we activley encourage friends and family of participants who wish to be involved in our activities.

Unlike many sports, sailors with disabilities can compete against non-disabled persons on a level playing field.
