Masters Badminton 🏸

The general term Masters relates to all players aged 35 and above, and often incorporates players that are eligible for Veterans (aged 50+) or Super Vets (aged 60+).

Getting Involved 🤝

Competition dates are confirmed at the start of each year, and all interested players are placed into appropriate teams where possible.

👉 To be eligible for representative teams, all players must be registered members of the South Canterbury Badminton Association.

Inter-Association Program – Masters 🏆

The South Island Masters Inter-Association competition is a sanctioned team event for players turning 35 or older in the year of competition.

Format:

• 4 × Men’s Doubles
• 4 × Women’s Doubles
• 4 × Mixed Doubles

Timing: Held annually over the King's Birthday Weekend

Note: Playing down an age group is permitted (e.g., a 55-year-old may compete in the Masters).

This program is a fantastic opportunity for players to return to competitive badminton, enjoy team spirit, and connect with the wider badminton community across the South Island 💪🏸
