Selwyn Athletic Club welcomes children and adults to join in the fun and excitement of athletics. We encourage children to learn skills in all athletic events and to have fun. We support those athletes who choose to compete against other athletes in local interclub and national competitions.

The track and field season runs from October to April.

Interclub registered children train twice a week and compete in club and interclub competitions.

Interclub athletes training, Wednesday, All ages at 5.30pm.

Athletes 7yrs plus are welcome to join interclub competitons at any stage during the season.

If you are unsure, 2 free trial days are available to those aged 7-14yrs.

Interclub competitions for 7-14yr olds run on a Saturday morning, at the track at Nga Puna Wai. There is a commitment from parents required for these competitions as each club is required to help at events. All families signed up to interclub will be put on a roster to assist. There is a wide variety of help needed from recording to retrieving so there is a job for everyone according to their experience.

Athletes 15yrs plus compete on a Saturday afternoon also at the track at Nga Puna Wai. Families are also required to assist here once or twice per season.

We are affliated to Athletics Canterbury and Athletics New Zealand.
