SOUTHERN ZONE STAFF DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE AT ONE NZ WARRIORS HQ

 General

What an incredible opportunity for our Southern Zone Development Officers, Scorpions and South Island 15s Boys coaching staff, and academy trainers, who recently experienced a special development day hosted by the One New Zealand Warriors at Go Media Stadium.

A huge thank you to the Warriors for their outstanding hospitality and for welcoming our Southern Zone whānau behind the scenes for a day focused on learning, connection, and professional development.

The group was treated to an action-packed programme featuring coaching sessions with Tony Iro, Slade Griffin and Andrew Webster, an NRL field session, facilities tour, NRL gym session, wrestling session with the NRLW assistant coaches, and the opportunity to observe both NRLW and Jersey Flegg training environments.

The group also had the chance to watch former Scorpions players Maka and Tanner in action, a special reminder of the pathway and opportunities that rugby league continues to create for our Southern athletes.

A massive thank you to the Warriors coaching and performance staff for generously sharing their knowledge, experiences, and valuable insights throughout the day. The lessons, conversations, and practical learnings gained will have a lasting impact as our coaches and staff prepare for their upcoming campaigns.

Southern Zone is incredibly grateful for the continued support of the One New Zealand Warriors and proud of the strong partnership we share. Together, we continue to grow, strengthen, and create opportunities for rugby league across the South Island.
