Welcome to Southland's softball umpires website.

Umpires play an important role within softball.  While player and team numbers have increased in Southland in recent years, development of new umpires has been slow.

Currently we have a mix of new and experienced umpires, but we do need more help. If you’re someone who would like to increase your involvement in the game of softball or if you would like to learn the rules and mechanics needed to become an umpire. Then you have come to the right website.

This year we are introducing a Southland umpire programme. We have players, coaches, parents and supporters in our association that are umpiring every week, in morning and afternoon grades. We would like these people to become offical Southland softball umpires.

Training, mentoring, uniform and equipment will be provided.
