About Green Prescription (GRx)

GET ACTIVE

Green Prescription (GRx) – A Prescription for Better Health

What is Green Prescription?

Green Prescription (GRx) is a health and wellbeing programme designed to support people in becoming more physically active. Through a personalisable activity plan, participants are guided towards sustainable lifestyle changes that can improve their physical health, mental wellbeing, strength, and overall quality of life.

A Green Prescription may include activities such as walking, swimming, strength and resistance exercises, or gentle fitness classes, tailored to individual needs, abilities, and goals.

Participants can access Green Prescription through a referral from their GP, practice nurse, community health worker, or by self-referring online.

Support can be provided through face-to-face consultations, telephone coaching, or a combination of both, making it easier for people to access the programme in a way that suits their circumstances.

How Green Prescription Can Support You
