Code of Conduct for Players

The following are our guidelines to you as a player

  • Play for fun and enjoyment
  • Be a financial member of the club
  • Abide by the rules and objectives from the Constitution of the Springston Netball Club
  • The most important goal is making the most of your abilities
  • Work equally hard for yourself and the team
  • Be a good sport and cheer all good play
  • Respect your coach/manager and fellow players
  • Be respectful to officials, umpires and your opposition
  • You may be asked to help in fundraising for the Club accept with pleasure
  • You should intend to be available for the whole season
  • Accept the decision of the Coach/manager as to the selection of the team and positions of play in each match positively
  • Uniform is to be returned in the same condition as it was handed out, clean and undamaged.
  • Attend practices and be on time
  • Uniform is not to be worn to practice, at home or school under any circumstances – to be worn to games only
  • Contact you coach/manager if you won’t be at practice at your earliest convenience
  • Respect and listen to your coach/manager and fully participate in all practices
  • If you have any queries/problems these should be raised with your coach/manager
  • If you have queries/problems that you feel that you cannot raise with your coach/manager, contact or write to the Springston Netball Club, refer to the contact on the home page of the website.
  • Wear correct club uniform
  • Arrive on time usually half and hour before play or at the coaches/managers discretion
  • Respect the umpire’s decisions.  If you disagree have your Captain approach the official during a break of after the game.
  • Control you temper.  It is not acceptable to verbally abuse officials or other players or deliberately contact or provoke an opponent.
  • Understand and play by the rules
    Code of Conduct for Parents/Spectators

  • Spectators must respect the decision of the umpire is final​
  • All comments from the sideline should be unbiased and positive
  • Abusive language toward the Coach/Manager, Umpire or players WILL NOT be tolerated at any time.
  • Spectators may not encroach on the court area duringa game.
  • Parents are to encourage their child to respect and listen to their Coach/Manager before, during and immediatley after te game.
  • Any queries or problems should be discussed with the Coach/Manager after the game or at a time convenient for both concerned.


Code of Conduct for Coaches

  • Decisions must be fair to all players
  • May coach froma stationary posiionon the sideline.
  • Coaching comments are to be of a positive nature.
  • Coaches/Managers must at all times respect the decisions of the umpire.
  • Refrain from talking to the umpire.
  • Be an exemplary role model.
  • Ensure no player is left at the courts by themselves after practice/game.
  • Endeavour to teach players the Fair Play and Sportsmanship ideals.
