Sydenham Lawn Bowls Club

Welcome to Sydenham Bowls Club

The Sydenham Bowls Club (SBC) is the 2nd oldest in Canterbury, existing at the same site and providing community members, of all ages, a safe place to get physically active and make connections with their peers since 1888. This history is important & all the members who feel the need to help keep the club thriving.

The SBC provides organised sport for all our members. As a club we want to be more than just a successful bowls club. Our aim is to promote community spirit. We give local south Christchurch people the opportunity to participate in sport within a supportive environment that fosters strong family values. In order to manage the club we have a dedicated volunteer base who ensure each week that members are able to play the game they love.

Our members are generally locals from the South east area of Christchurch with various ethnic backgrounds and range in age with a mixture of socio-economic backgrounds which make us a very diverse club.

We're located at 230 Brougham Street at the western end of Sydenham Park. Behind the big  fence & the Cricket clubrooms. (Don't worry we'll get the big fence repainted one day but, long story short, that paintjob has caused a few headaches in the past, with the local lawmakers !!)
