Looking for a fun, relaxed and affordable venue for your next celebration or group event?

Sydenham Bowling Club is a great place to bring people together. Whether you are planning a work function, birthday, family celebration, team-building day, community gathering or social get-together, we can help you create an enjoyable event everyone can be part of.

No previous bowling experience is needed. We provide the bowls, friendly instruction and plenty of encouragement!

A Fun Activity for Everyone

We can have up to 64 people playing bowls at one time across our eight rinks. If you have a larger group, we can stagger the games or organise a friendly competition so everyone gets a turn.

Those who prefer not to bowl can relax, watch the action or enjoy the clubrooms and other activities.

Our clubrooms can accommodate up to 160 people, making the venue suitable for both small gatherings and larger functions.

Your function package can include:

• Clubroom and venue hire

• Bowls and equipment

• Friendly bowls instruction and coaching

• Licensed bar and bar staff

• Standard cleaning

• Use of our kitchen, crockery and cutlery

• Bluetooth sound system for your own music

We will work with you to make organising your function as straightforward as possible.

Bring the Food You Love

You are welcome to arrange your own caterer, order pizzas or organise a food truck.

We also have a special arrangement with the local Pizza Hut that may provide your group with free delivery and a discount when you order directly through the manager. Ask us for the details when you book.

Want to cook up a few sausages? Our barbecue is available for just $25, including gas and cleaning.

Drinks at the Club

Our licensed bar will be open for your function, with friendly bar staff ready to look after your guests.

All drinks are purchased through the club, so there is no need to worry about bringing your own. If there is something special you would like us to stock, let us know in advance and we will see what we can arrange.

Please note that bar purchases are separate from the venue hire price.

Music and More

Connect your phone to our Bluetooth sound system and play your own function playlist—or leave the music to us with some classic hits from Coast FM.

Guests can also enjoy a range of other activities, which may include:

• Cornhole

• Indoor bowls

• Golf games

What if It Rains?

Lawn bowls does depend on the weather, but a little rain does not have to spoil the fun.

If we are unable to use the greens, your group can still enjoy the clubrooms, bar and other games and activities available at the club.

A Few Helpful Things to Know

To protect our greens, bowlers need to wear flat-soled shoes such as sneakers or sandshoes. Bowling in socks or bare feet is also perfectly fine.

As we operate a licensed bar, BYO alcohol is not permitted. Some functions may also require a special licence, but we can talk you through what is needed. Special licence applications must be arranged at least 25 days before your event.

All bookings are confirmed once they have been approved, the venue hire agreement has been signed and the deposit has been paid.
