TTNZ Life Member, Merv Allardyce passed away in Wellington on Saturday 11th July 2020 in his 88th year after decades of service to Table Tennis and TTNZ. Merv served as TTNZ ED for a period of 11 years.

Merv was an outstanding volunteer and was made a life member of Empire Table Tennis Club in 1986 after years volunteering as an administrator, coach and building project manager.

Merv continued to play table tennis in his later years, competing in the World Veteran Championships in Auckland in 2014 in the Over 80's, finishing as runner-up in the O80 Consolation doubles with Eddie Moore.

Our deepest sympathies to Merv's family from our table tennis family, Merv will be greatly missed.
