Danny Newland Fund
The Danny Newland Fund was initiated in 2019 due to a generous donation from Ann Maclean, Taranaki Badminton Life member, who wanted to benefit the development of promising junior players in Taranaki.
The funds namesake, “Danny Newland” is in memory of another Taranaki Life Member who passed away in 2019. Danny lived and breathed badminton and was a driving force behind administration and representation in Taranaki.
The intent of this fund is to provide financial support to assist aspiring junior players to develop their skills and become competitive players at a regional and national level. Financial support will help to cover the costs of:
- Coaching fees (excluding academy fees)
- Tournament entry fees (excluding any tournaments where you are representing Taranaki through the academy programme
- Travel and accommodation costs (excluding any costs associated to academy related events)
It is NOT the intent to cover all costs relating to the development of said players skills
