BMX bikes are split into two classes, 20 inch and 24 inch (also called a cruiser). BMX bikes are made to be strong, but also light meaning they are fast on the BMX tracks. The tyres on the kids BMX bikes are thin helping with keeping the bike light and fast. These sizes refer to the wheel diameter of the bike. There is a bike size (Micro-Mini) that actually has 18” wheels for small children. These bikes are used in the 20” classes.
