CODE OF CONDUCT

The Templeton Netball Club asks our players to:

  • Play for fun and enjoyment.
  • Abide by the rules and regulations within the sport, the club and the Selwyn Netball Centre.
  • Give total commitment to your team for the entire season.
  • Strive to attend all trainings and games.  If unavailable, please notify your Coach well in advance of the practice or game.
  • Accept the decision of the Coach/Manager as to the selection of the team and positions of play in each match positively.
  • Treat opponents and own team members with respect and courtesy.
  • Respect the decisions of Umpires, Coaches and Managers without argument.  If you have a point that needs clarification, your team captain or Coach should approach the official during a break or after the game.
  • It is not acceptable to verbally abuse officials or other players or deliberately contact or provoke an opponent.
  • As a senior or social player I agree to sit and pass the umpiring theory examination as directed by SNC.
  • As a senior or social player I agree to participate in umpiring duties when I am requested to do so.  I understand that failure to umpire results in a fine being charged to my team by SNC.
  • I, or my parent/guardian, will undertake the SNC shop and/or office duties when our team is rostered for this duty.  Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action as set by the committee at their discretion.
  • You may be asked to help in fundraising for the club, please accept with pleasure.

The Templeton Netball Club asks everyone to:

  • Be a good sport - applaud good fair play from both teams.  Comments from the sideline should be unbiased and positive.  Please don’t encourage rough or dirty play.
  • Please refrain from questioning or commenting to the Umpire.  Any questions or points that require clarification should be made by the team captain or the Coach/Manager.
  • Please let the Coaches speak to all members of the team in the huddle at break times during a game.  This is a valuable coaching moment and feedback from the Coach to players regarding the game is a great tool.  We appreciate and understand that there may be tips you wish to offer your child, however please hold these until the end of the game.
  • Please refrain from questioning, commenting about or abusing any Coach.  TNC appreciates the valuable effort and time our volunteer Coaches provide the club and we support them all 100%.  If you wish to speak to your child’s Coach, please do so either after training or after the game or schedule a mutually suitable time to meet.  If you are still unhappy, or an issue remains unresolved, please bring it to the attention of our Club Captain via email at [email protected]
  • Abusive language toward any Coaches, Managers, Umpires or players from within or outside of our club WILL NOT be tolerated at any time.
  • Spectators may not encroach on the court area during a game.
  • You may be asked to help in fundraising for the Club, please accept with pleasure.

The TNC Committee is dedicated to enabling open lines of communication between our players, parents and club supporters and is very aware that without your patronage, we would have no club.

All feedback, positive or otherwise, is gratefully accepted and will assist us in creating the type of club that you/your children would like to be involved with.

Please help us to establish a club that you will be proud to represent and to be associated with.

Please
submit any issues with your playing experience in writing via email directly to our Club Captain -
