TEMUKA SENIOR NETBALL CLUB COACHES and TEAM MANAGERS CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS

Temuka Senior Netball Club are appreciative of the time and dedication that Coaches, Managers and Volunteers have given to our club.  We do ask that all parties involved following the Code of Conduct and Ethics.


1 Ensure the player’s time spent with you is a positive experience
- All players are deserving of equal attention and opportunities

2 Treat each player as an individual
- Respect the talent, developmental stage and goals of each individual player
- Help each player reach their full potential

3 Be considerate and honest with players

4 Be professional in and accept responsibility for your actions.
- Display control, respect, dignity and professionalism to all involved with the sport – this includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and spectators.
- Encourage your players to demonstrate the same qualities.

5 Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport - The rules and guidelines of IFNA/NNZ should be followed


6 Refrain from any form of personal abuse
- This includes verbal, physical and emotional abuse
- Be alert to any forms of abuse directed towards your players from other sources whilst they are in your care


7 Provide a safe environment for training at facilities and in competition
- Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety standards
- Equipment, rules and the environment need to be appropriate for the age and ability of the players

8 Show concern and caution towards sick and injured players
- Provide a modified training programme where appropriate
- Allow further participation in training and competition only when appropriate
- Seek medical advice when required
- Maintain the same interest and support towards sick and injured players

9 Be a positive role model for netball and players
