Any students who require counselling support should contact the counselling support helpline on 1737.  It is FREE to call or text and will allow students to gain support from a trained counsellor.​​​​​​​​​​​​​ It's OK to ask for help.

Awhina Whanau Services is free to assist youth and families to create and maintain strong coping mechanisms for life's stresses.  Mana wahine:  youth specific kaupapa Maori small group for young women (12-17 years).  Tuakana/teina approaches harm reduction, sexual health, peer support, self-awareness, counselling and therapy.  Family Counsellor; Youth Social Services Organisation.

Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9am-5pm and Wednesday from 11am-5pm.

Directions Youth Health Centre

They provide FREE and confidential youth and well-being services for 10-24 year olds.  Service provision includes access to GP, nurse clinics, counsellors, social worker, and youth workers.  Where appropriate they can also support with transport.  The services are focused on meeting the needs of young people in an environment that allows wrap-around support and care. They also work with schools and youth-based organisations providing education and strengths-based programmes.

He Ara Tika Youth Support

He Ara Tika (Roopu a Iwi) is a mentoring programme that works specifically with young Maori students attending secondary school.  The mentors are volunteers who are delivering an approved programme in the school setting.  With the support of the Ministry of Education, we are dedicated to encouraging Maori secondary school students to remain in education and progress to tertiary study.  The means providing support, mentoring and guidance throughout the school year and involving whanau and communities.

Ka Hao Te Rangatahi ke te Matua a Maui Trust

Napier City Council provide a leadership programme for at risk Maori males.  A kaupapa Maori based initiative will be delivered to a target group of male Maori youth in Maraenui, exhibiting violent behaviour and who are potential targets for recruitment into local gangs.
