Certificates

At Pony Club members are encouraged to work towards obtaining their certificates. The first certificate is D which covers basic horsemanship and simple riding. From there, riders can progress to higher certificates. These go in order from D, D+, C, C+, B, H, A. These certificates get increasingly more difficult and test riders knowledge and ability.

At rallies we get instructors to sign off certain skills or knowledge on riders certificate cards once they have mastered it. Once riders have everything signed off and they feel ready, they are able to sit a test which includes theory and riding. If they pass they then gain that certificate and are able to move on to the next one. If not, no big deal, they can try again next time.
