OVERVIEW

Ongoing development in underwater hockey by way of Referee and Coaching Cources is a key strategic objective in New Zealand as they provide our members with:

• High quality referees officiating at all of our tournaments
  
• Improved coaching to enable players to further develop and grow their hockey skills
• Oportunity for advancement within the game either as a player or referee
• Opportunity to give back to the sport either as a Referee or Coach

REFEREE

There are three referee courses run by UWHNZ for the ongoing development of referees along with those players that look to gain a better understanding of the rules to further thier playing of the sport.

The referees course are run by the senior referees in the regions and further information can be obtained by email [email protected]

Rules Course

• The Rules Course is currently being updated and will be available online shortly

Level 1 Referee Courses

• As a result of the COVID-19 all Level 1 courses have been suspended for 2020.

Level 2 Referee Courses

• Subject to demand and this course will be held in conjunction with the 2020 Under 18 Interzone Championships
  
• Expressions of Interest will be advertised in August 2020 once the tournament is confirmed
  

COACH

As a result of the COVID-19 all Coaching courses have been suspended for 2020.

The courses will be reinstated once the restrictions are lifted and there is demand 

Basic Coaching Courses

These will be held in the regions as required by the following regional presenters:

• Mid-Northern - Letitica Sheehan
• Central - Angela Whiteman
• Top of South - Bruno Brosnan
