The Judy Partel Memorial Shield for Coaching

​​​​​​​Judy Partel was a founding member of the then Albion Netball Club with her mother Kitty Garland.  Judy played senior netball & coached the Snr A Albion netball team for many years.  As well as coaching Otago Development teams, Judy was a NZ Umpire & travelled all over New Zealand for this.  Judy’s family have donated this shield to honour the very important role of coaches & is presented by Judy’s daughter & granddaughter Kim & Tayla MacDonald who are both actively involved with the club.

The Hayward Piri Club Spirit award

Janine Hayward & Mel Piri gave a combined service of 30 years to the club and stepped down in 2020.  They not only played for many years but also coached, held all roles on the committee & did everything needed to keep the club running, they leave behind a formidable legacy.

This award is for a player(s) who exemplifies the spirit of University Albion Netball Club.  They have a strong work ethic, discipline, exhibit grace under pressure, versatile, consistent and adaptable.  They are a role model to others, shows commitment to team over self and treats teammates, coaches and all club members with respect
