The Sporty Team - DNS setting

Please follow these instructions to update the domain name records (DNS zone records) for your domain name. 

Login to your domain name registrar or name server host to set the DNS zone records for the domain. This is most commonly the domain Registrar you currently pay for your domain name eg. 1st Domains, Freeparking, Discount Domains etc.

A. To update a main website domain name including www subdomain eg. http://www.yourdomain.co.nz

i) Create an A-Record: yourdomain.co.nz that points to 20.167.24.186
Note that a CNAME record or an A record may already exist for www.yourdomain.co.nz in which case it should be deleted/replaced by this new A record

ii) Create another A-Record: www.yourdomain.co.nz that points to 20.167.24.186


Note TXT records may already exist. Please leave existing TXT records in place.

Please leave any MX records in place so email is not impacted

​​​​​​​Email support@sportsground.co.nz to advise details of the domain name once your setup has been completed.

Once all records are set, it will show the following screen. Please email ​​​​​support@sportsground.co.nz once this is appearing so Sporty can switch the domain name across.

B. To simply create a sub-domain eg. https://sport.yourdomain.co.nz

i) Create a new A Record: sport.yourdomain.co.nz that is set to 20.167.24.186

Email support@sportsground.co.nz to advise details of the domain name once your setup has been completed.​​​​​​​

When you update the DNS zone records it will display a blue screen (screen shot below) and the site will be unavailable until the records are set at our end. Therefore, we request you to please make the DNS changes as late in the day as possible to minimise any downtime. We will then update the configuration in Microsoft Azure at our end.
