Waihora Pony Club has been around since the early 1950s. The Club is based at the Motukarara Domain grounds where we have a wonderful clubroom which was moved onto the present site by some of the founding club families.

Waihora Pony Club prides itself on its down-to-earth grassroots atmosphere and its history. It still has strong connections with its founding members where their children rode and now they have the enjoyment of watching their grandchildren ride on the same grounds.

Groups of riders are presently working towards their certificates.
We have over 20 rally riding members many of whom are out and about competing most weekends.

The committee has worked hard over the last few years to upgrade facilities available to our members and casual riders/groups.  We have yards, washdown bays, fenced all-weather arena, pipe arenas (not always set up), amazing water jump complex, arena seating, show jumps and fillers and a variety of XC jumps. The hill paddock is often available for use.  Over the summer of 2015/16 the kitchen facilities were given a complete overhaul.
