NEWSLETTER FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

Hi Everyone,

Firstly congratulations to Jo and Jenny, Barry W, Warwick, James and John C for your  highly commendable efforts  in the Centre Champ of Champ Pairs and Fours. We are extremely proud of you. Thank you also to the members who attended these games and gave moral support to our players.

Monday bowls seems to be very popular and we are getting a good response from our friends from Waipawa. Thank you to the organisers of this event.

GARAGE SALE  As you all are probably aware we are having a garage sale this Saturday starting at 9am. If you have items you are donating please have them to the club house by 10am Friday morning. If you wish to help on Saturday morning this would also be very much appreciated.  Also we need plenty of plastic shopping bags and boxes. We do not want to leave it to the same few people. This event could be a substantial fundraiser for the club so please get in behind it and support it. Thank you.

There will also be on Saturday morning starting at 9am a working bee for A Green so I would like to see some bodies present. Hopefully, Corrections will be there as well and this will make a huge difference for the new beginning of the green due to start in July.

Just as a matter of interest things are well in hand and we are right up to date at present. All we need is to keep the momentum going so that when Ian Mahoney starts  the preparation for the seed sowing we are ready. Rae Asphalts have delivered top soil to us and Will Tully has kindly put it in the soil shed with his front end loader.

The next job for Corrections will be to sieve it.

GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING  When you arrive to play your bowls please don't wait to be asked to put mats, scoreboards and flags out, if you see it needs to be done then do it. And at the end of play when things need to be bought in (flags included) then do it. Please don't sit around and expect everything to be done for you. These are gender neutral tasks.

A.G.M. As you are all most probably aware our AGM is on Saturday July 1st at 3pm.

If the weather is fine bowls will played as usual until 2.30pm followed by afternoon tea with the AGM afterwards. Your attendance is requested. As this is your club.

That's all from me.

Yours in Bowls

Darbs.
