Wellington College Football (WCF) is one of the largest junior and youth football clubs in the region and the biggest team sport at Wellington College, with 29 teams competing in 2025.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for students of all skill levels and ambitions. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for competitive success, we want every player to enjoy their football experience. We encourage students to play for both their school and club teams, helping them avoid the need for difficult "decisions" and fostering a lifelong love of the game.
Our Teams and Competitions Wellington College football teams compete in competitions organized by College Sport Wellington (CSW):
CSW Junior – For Years 9 and 10
CSW Year 11 – For non-streamed Year 11 teams
CSW Youth – For streamed Year 11, Year 12, and Year 13
At the competitive level, our 1st XI team competes for the Trevor Rigby Cup in the CSW Premier Youth Grade (PYG) and is the current title holder. They play in four prestigious traditional fixtures, a pre-season quad tournament, and are on track to qualify for the NZSS National Football Tournament each year. Our 2nd XI is also highly competitive, playing in the CSW Premier Reserve Grade and participating in the NZSS National 2nd XI Tournament. Our top Junior side, the Y10 1st XI, competes for the Vaughn Coveny Cup and participates in the NZSS National Junior Tournament, where they are currently the National Champions.
