This page looks at various Wellbeing / Hauora frameworks that maybe useful for you when looking at ways to develop hauora in a rugby league environment
We lead off with the NZRL Find Your Front programme ( FYF). FYF has been intrgrated into all WRL representative teams as a way to have a process for players checking in with each other, their coaches and team staff around their wellbeing. Several clubs in the WRL have rolled out the FYF programme with their teams and by hold FYF workshops. You will see many examples of FYF activations and workshops across WRL social media. Enjoy the NZRL video below which provides an insight into "Find Your Front".
Te Whare Tapa Wha (TWTA) is one of the most well know wellbeing frameworks in Aotearoa. Developed by Tā Mason Durie. WRL has loooked at 4 key pillars in TWTW ; Taha Wairua ( Spiritual Health), Taha Hinengaro ( Mental Health), Taha Tinana ( Physical Health) , and Taha Whānau ( Family Health). We have arrannged these pou in a way where we can look at the actions and behavours within a team environment to enhance hauora. The example below is for rangatahi players but equally applies to all grades.
Te Hiringa Tamariki ( THT) is a wellbeing framework developed by Unicef Aotearoa and Anton Blank. THT was developed with rangatahi Māori in mind. WRL have adapted the 4 key pillars from THT and looked at them in a way that would align with WRL to create actions and behaviours that would enhance hauora in a rugby league environment across all grades and age groups.
