Western Rangers and Albion Coaching work together to provide a connected junior football-development environment from a player’s first experiences through to the transition towards youth football.
Albion leads and supports programme delivery, coaching, methodology and technical direction across the Western Rangers junior pathway. Through Little Albion, Albion+, Pre-Academy and Holiday Programmes, players can access age-appropriate development while remaining connected to their local club and community.
The partnership is built around more than simply providing extra coaching. The aim is to create consistency in how players are supported, challenged and developed as they move through different stages of the game.
Albion coaches work within a shared development framework that connects football understanding, technical execution and character, while creating environments where players feel known, supported and able to enjoy the game.
As players approach youth football, Albion and Western Rangers can also help families understand appropriate next-step opportunities where greater challenge is required.

Little Albion
Ages 4–6
Little Albion is the first step in the Western Rangers development pathway.
Sessions are built around movement, the ball, simple games and lots of opportunities to explore. At this age the priority is not tactics or performance — it is helping children become comfortable with the ball, confident in their movement and excited to come back next week.
Our coaches create a warm, energetic and supportive environment where children can learn, laugh, make mistakes and begin building a genuine relationship with football.

Albion +
Ages 7–12
Albion+ provides additional development for young players who enjoy football and want more opportunities to play, learn and improve.
Sessions combine lots of contact with the ball, purposeful games and age-appropriate football problems. As players develop, they are gradually encouraged to recognise more information, understand what is happening around them and make more of their own decisions.
Albion+ is not about rushing children towards performance football. It is about building strong foundations, growing confidence and understanding, and keeping the enjoyment of the game firmly at the centre.

Pre-Academy
Preparing for youth football
Pre-Academy provides an important bridge between junior football and the greater demands players begin to experience as they move towards youth football.
The environment introduces greater detail, stronger football understanding and increasing responsibility, while continuing to develop players within an age-appropriate and supportive setting.
Players begin to work more deliberately with the relationships between space, pressure, teammates, opponents and the decisions the game asks them to make.
For players approaching the next stage, Albion can also help families understand appropriate pathway options and additional development opportunities where required.
Holiday Programmes
Albion Holiday Programmes bring players together during the school holidays for plenty of football, games, challenges and shared experiences.
The emphasis is on playing. Players get lots of time with the ball, compete in different games and activities, make new friends and enjoy football in an energetic but well-supported environment.
Programmes cater for a range of ages and experience levels, with coaches adapting the challenge to the players in front of them.
Holiday football should feel different from another week of training.
