126th AGM for the CTC.... Wednesday 4th July 2018

A night of successful ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING was held combined with the Junior and Senior Prizegiving for the past season. There are few changes to our current Committee for the upcoming season and we are sadly losing Peter Mandeson, who as Vice-President, has played a huge role in the upgrading and building of our Tennis Courts. Our forever thanks to Peter for his effort and long may he enjoy playing on our magnificent courts!  We welcome our new Vice-President, Dr Michael Clarke who has been a valuable Club Member for many years. In the same vane we have also welcomed Todd Wheeler to the Committee.

Greg Harnett has resigned as Treasurer and has handed the full role over to Dean Tohill. Greg will remain on the Committee. He has done an amazing job over the past 2 years and has whipped our finances into shape. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort Greg!

2017-2018 season of tennis has been a lot quieter at the CTC except for the usual:

  • Junior and Senior Club Champs,
  • the well-celebrated 30th Anniversary competition for the Ryburn Cup (won this year by Bernise Milliken),
  • a new Inter-Club challenge set up by Mark Chamberlin, (who also designed a Trophy sponsored by PC Times),
  • the usual Business House competitions Monday and Thursday nights,
  • the Social Play Tuesday nights and Friday mornings,
  • the Interclub Teams in the Auckland league.

At the exciting Tennis Auckland Awards Night earlier this year, our Club was awarded the Club Events Award for our amazing 125th Anniversary Celebrations, enjoyed by Phil Goff, Andrew Bayly and several of Tennis Auckland and Tennis New Zealand heirachy,  namely Chris Day and Mark Lewis, as well as a well-known Junior Coach, Simon Rae and two top players plus our Club Patron, Hilda Cunningham. It was a testament to all of the time and effort that had been invested into improving our facilites for now and many years to come.

Your Committee are still an enthusiastic and progressive bunch who are pushing forward to continue the changes and improvements to our Club.

At the end of this 2018 year, we will once again be running the famous Clevedon Coast Oysters Doubles Tournament with Registrations available from 1 September.  This "everyone dress up and play in that dress up gear" FUN TOURNAMENT is sought after by players from all over New Zealand. With an enthusiastic Sub-Committee, busy as bees right now preparing for this auspicious event, it will be another fantastic day and we now have magnificent courts to showcase!  Looking forward to many of our Club Members taking part again!

125th AGM for the CTC.... Friday 28th July 2017

After our very successful ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, there is little change to our current Committee for the upcoming season.

Greg Harnett has resigned as Treasurer and has handed the role over to Dean Tohill. Greg will remain on the Committee. Greg has done an amazing job over the past 2 years and has whipped our finances into shape. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort Greg!

There have been a lot of positve changes at the CTC over the past 2 years, particularly in 2017. Recently, we were thrilled to be awarded the joint Club facilities award for our new courts and state of the art lighting at the Tennis Auckland Awards, which is a testament to all of the time and effort that has been invested into improving our facilites for now and many years to come.

Your Committee are still an enthusiastic and progressive bunch who are pushing forward to continue the changes and improvements to our Club.

As this year marks the 125th anniversary of our Club, we are thrilled to mark this milestone with a Club that has never looked better!!!
