The courses are set, the competition is set, are you ready for:

"Pukeko Stomp"


The event is to be held in the Tangiteroria area. But to get there you need to access through the back of Whatatiri, located at the end of Carruth Road.

Follow the signs down the farm driveway for approximately 1.5km.

If dropping people off an leaving event area be very careful on exiting as farm track is not very wide.

3hr participants are likely to meet mountain bikes on entry through the farm track.

Before registration teams must:

  • Competitors under the age of 18 on race day must have the consent form signed by parent/guardian.
  • Have paid up in full.

    • Cash on day is acceptable (no change is available)


Safety.

  • All roads including forestry roads, are open to the public as normal. Normal road rules apply. Signs will be out, but it is up to you to keep safe.
  • In the event of any accident, render first aid.
  • For all emergencies or outside assistance required phone the race directors on 027 439 5443. Put this number into your phones.


Transition. Gear storage and transition is to occur in a designated area adjoining the officials table. No transitioning at vehicles.


Biosecurity and respect of land.

  • We are privileged to use private land for this event.
  • Make sure all race gear is clean prior to the event.


Compulsory gear. Check the website for compulsory gear requirements. kauriadventure.co.nz

  • Remember your inner tube, large enough to carry you. Make sure it is inflated.
    • If you are having trouble sourcing an inner tube, email event organisers: [email protected]
  • Having an extra pair of shoes and spare polypro shirt may be desirable (hint, hint, mud, water, mud, water)


Navigation and Penalty Points.

  • The events are run with a deadline time (3 or 6 hours). All teams should aim to be back at the finish line by this time.
  • The opening legs of all events are largely made up of compulsory controls that must be done in a set order.
  • The final leg is a foot rogaine with all controls found earning time credits.
  • Penalty's for every minute late will be accumulated at the rate of 5minutes penalty for every minute you are late.
  • If 30 minutes or more late, an additional 60 minutes penalty will be applied.


Logistics.

  • There is no water on course available that is suitable for drinking. Bring enough water for the full day. If it’s hot, you may need a lot 3-5ltrs per person

Water safety.

Don’t forget lifejackets for children under the age of 13 or non-water confident participants.

To make things simple from the organisers point of view we have made it compulsory for children under the age of 13 to wear a life jacket for the first stage.


Tyre tubes

Remember your tyre tubes, bring them ready to go, inflated.
