We have four different avenues for communicating with Whānau and vice versa.

Hero - Hero is our student management system that can be downloaded from your app store.  You can  access your child's information, enrol on-line, message the school for absentees.  The school can send notices through this app too.  Eventually as data is put into Hero you will be kept updated on your child's progress throughout the year and what they are working on at school.  As this is a new system to us, we are still working on this development.  The school must have your current email address to accept you as a user of this app.  Any information on this site relating to your child will only be seen by the person who accesses your email address.

Skool Loop - This can also be found on your app store. Once downloaded search for Otane School. Messages/notices/permission slips can be posted on Skoolloop. You can use Skoolloop to let the school know that your child will be away that day.  You are able to filter the messages that are relevant to you by choosing the groups that your child is currently in.  You should check this at the beginning of each year depending on what sports/groups your child wishes to participate in.

Facebook - The school has a Facebook page that we regularly post notices or pictures of whats happening at school. You are able to private message the school through this page also. The name of the page is simply "Otane School".  There is a link to our Facebook page on this website so any notices that are put up on facebook will show up on here too.

Online Newsletters:  If you click on the link under notices, the latest notice from iNewsletter will appear.  This will also be emailed to the primary contact of the student.  Please send a message if you would like to be added to the subscribers list.
