About us

Based in Mapua, our netball club has around 90 playing members from Mapua and the surrounding area.  We are a community club run by volunteers, with members and families who are passionate about netball. 

We have teams for all ages in the official New Zealand Netball junior programme 'futureFERNS' from year 0 to year 8. 

We participate in the Nelson Netball winter that runs from May - August each year.

All games are played at Saxton Netball Courts, Stoke, Nelson (own transport arrangements are required)

We are a fun, friendly, family club that loves representing the Mapua / Mahana / Moutere area.

We hold most training sessions at Mapua School (days differ depending on year levels) with some training also at Mahana School. 

Games are on Tuesday afternoons (year 1 - 4) and Saturdays (year 5 - 8). 

We always welcome new players, as well as volunteers to coach / manage teams and help out with the club.

We are looking forward to all our players and familiies getting involved and having a great 2024 season.​​​​​​​

• 2 April (Tuesday): Mapua & Districts Netball Club AGM - 7pm @ The Sprig & Fern

• 30 April (Tuesday): Future Ferns Coach development #1

• 1 May (Wednesday: Future Ferns Coach development #2

• DATE TBC: Future Ferns Umpire introductory training session 

• 4 May (Saturday): Year 5 - 8 Future Ferns netball starts

• 7 May (Tuesday): Year 1 - 4 Future Ferns netball starts

• DATE TBC (Saturday): Fundraiser: Sausage sizzle / bake stall @ Saxton Courts (9am - 3pm)

• 11 June (Tuesday): Year 0 - 2 Future Ferns netball finishes

• 25 June (Tuesday): Year 3 & 4 Future Ferns netball finishes

• 3 August (Saturday): Year 5 & 6 Future Ferns netball finishes

• 17 August (Saturday): Year 7 & 8 Future Ferns netball finishes

• 22 August (Thursday): End of season club celebration - Mapua School - 3:15pm
