The 2026 Volleyball New Zealand Poirewa Aotearoa Annual General Meeting and National Forum is heading to Ōtautahi, Christchurch.

The Volleyball New Zealand Annual General Meeting is open to Members of Volleyball New Zealand, providing an opportunity to review the past year, consider the organisation’s progress and conduct the formal business of the organisation.

Board and Appointments Panel opportunities

There are two elected and two appointed positions vacant on the Volleyball New Zealand Board in 2026, as well as one position representing voting Members on the VNZ Board Appointments Panel.

These roles are an important part of VNZ’s governance and future direction, helping ensure the organisation makes strong strategic and financial decisions, identifies sustainable revenue opportunities, builds a strong and respected national brand, and continues to connect Aotearoa with the international FIVB volleyball movement.

Strong governance helps VNZ create a sustainable future for the sport, while strengthening New Zealand’s place on the international volleyball stage and supporting continued investment in the growth and development of volleyball across Aotearoa.

Members interested in contributing to the future of Volleyball New Zealand are encouraged to consider these opportunities and engage in the 2026 governance process.

Service and Life Membership Awards

The Volleyball New Zealand community will also have the opportunity to nominate individuals for VNZ Service Awards and Life Membership Awards, recognising those who have made a significant contribution to volleyball in Aotearoa.

National Forum

The National Forum will provide an opportunity for people from across the volleyball community to come together at the new Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre.

The programme will include opportunities for discussion, collaboration, learning and networking, with a focus on the opportunities and challenges facing volleyball and how we can continue to grow and strengthen the sport across Aotearoa.

Those attending will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow members of the volleyball community and hear what is happening across the country.
