ABS Borough Year 7-8 Basketball Competition 2022

The Year 7 & 8 basketball season commences Monday 7th March so we REQUIRE REGISTRATIONS asap from all year students in these year groups wishing to participate.  

Games will be held on Monday night at EA Networks from 3.30 onwards.  

SUBSCRIPTIONS are set at $85 for the season. This includes the payment for BBMC providing the referee. If you know of someone who is a capable referee and would be available every Monday afternoon please contact Mrs Hickman.

Payments can be made directly into the School bank account. Your child will not be entered into a team untill payment is made. Alternatively, payments can be made via the school office.

Vaccine Passes will be required on Registration for 12+, Please follow EA Networks and Basketball Mid Canterbury's Covid Level Rules, Which may mean Only Coaches, Manager and Referee's will be able to enter with team's.

Registrations will need to be completed no later than 28th February.

UNIFORM - Basketball singlet issued by the School, plain black shorts and appropriate non-marking shoes. Mouth Guards must be worn (Basketball New Zealand Requirement)

FAIR PLAY - Participation is subject to an acceptable standard of behaviour and sportsmanship on and off the court.  All players must understand and  tick the Terms and Conditions box on the registration form. 

Each team is required to have a Coach and a Manager/Contoller.  NO COACH MEANS NO TEAM.  All parents are expected to help in some way.   Coaches and Managers are required to fill out the registration form including Vaccine pass verfication.

COACH - Basketball Mid Canterbury have put a practice plan on their facebook page to follow if you wish. If you are available and keen give coaching a go! Remember, this season this may be the only way to get into the stadium to watch.

MANAGER/CONTROLLER - the Manager/Controller is responsible for the uniforms, filling out the team sheet before each game and either does the bench duty at each game or organises someone to do it.  Generally helping the Coach where needed.
