PRESIDENTS REPORT 2014

It is my pleasure to present my 2014 Annual Report.  It has been a quieter year of trading but better than expected.  Sponsorship has been very good, well done Gary.
Many thanks to Barry, Joe and all the helpers for keeping Friday nights ticking over, a good social evening.
I must thank Graeme Cross for all the time and effort he has put in as Secretary to keep the Club running smoothly.
Terry Cairns not only as Treasurer but for all the many hours he has put in around the Club with different projects.
We went into the year looking at ways of repairing our green and we decided it would have been irresponsible to commit all the Club’s funds to the green.  We got remedial work done by Tiger Turf which has got the green level and will give us full use out of the carpet.  We must keep up the banking each year for the future repairs.
We got a grant from Wairere Bowl when they closed and you would have noticed where some of this money has gone.  We have given some land back to the Council, most of it was the petanque area and now less lawn to maintain.
I would like to thank Beryl and her team for the good job she has done as Match Convenor, Selector and Coach.  Beryl is stepping down from the Executive and I wish her well in her move to Hastings.
Many thanks to Ray who has done a number of years running tournaments and been on the Executive – he has decided to call it a day.
Thanks to Stathea, BJ, Louise and all the men and women who help in the kitchen and with raffles.
Thanks to everyone who look after the green, mowing, trimming hedges.
Thanks to Rusty for all the painting of fences and carparks.  Wayne and Bill and all their helpers for looking after the bar.
Barry for all the work he has put in over the years as Club Captain, Coach and Selector.
Thanks to everyone who ran tournaments.  Thanks to umpires Bev and Barbara.
To all the new members I hope you all have an enjoyable time with our Club.
Congratulations to all members who won Club Champs, Champion of Champions, outside events locally and other Centres.
Congratulations to Bev Withers who got her 5 Events Badge, I think Bev is our Club’s first recipient.
We record the sad loss of Jack Seven and Joan Bishop
and our sympathies go out to their families and friends.
Firstly I would like to thank everyone for all the support over the year and I wish the Club all the best for the future.  I have had a great time and met many lovely people. I thank you for giving me the privilege of being your President.
