CLUB HISTORY

Rugby is strong on the Pohutukawa Coast. Ever since the area was settled, residents have been playing and supporting rugby throughout the Auckland and Counties areas. Since the early 1970's our club has been fully affiliated to the Counties-Manukau Rugby Football Union, and now plays teams from Te Kauwhata to Manurewa and from Maramarua to Weymouth.

We are a club where members and parents can enjoy a friendly country type culture on the boundaries of the city.  We promote a live local, play local theme.
U6-U7 age groups play rippa rugby for boys and girls and all games are played at Bruce Pulman Park on a Saturday morning.  All games from U8-U13 are tackle grade and are played around the Counties Manukau area and at our home ground at Te Puru Park.

The grounds are 99% all weather so we avoid cancellations, meaning you and your child can get the most out of a winter season with minimal disruptions due to cancellations.

We at present are focused on junior boys (and girls) rugby but are looking to grow a senior or under 19 team in the future.  We do also have an active Golden Oldies team.  Although we are a small club, we are passionate about Rugby and we are fervent supporters of our community.

To us, Rugby is about bringing people together. It's about getting our kids playing a sport they love, and having Mums and Dads watching them grow and develop. It's about giving everyone the chance to play and to watch our national game in a supportive environment. It's also about being a responsible supporter of community efforts to encourage healthy activities which bring the best out in everyone.
