The Beachlands Maraetai Rugby Football Club formed in the early 1970s as the community around Beachlands and Maraetai started to expand. Prior to this the local players travelled to play for Pakuranga United.
When the Beachlands Maraetai RFC was established it became affiliated to the Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union. The club was originally based at the Beachlands school and Beachlands Domain until the creation of Te Puru sports complex. The Te Puru complex offers home ground facilities to the club that are second to none, situated in a unique seaside venue with great views and surroundings.
The 2006 season has seen the club grow strongly and field a senior team playing in the Senior 1 division. The club is headed by a passionate and fully committed management team whose main focus is the welfare of its membership and the growth of the club. The facilities available to the club make it an attractive proposition for players in the local and wider Manukau and Papakura region.
