22/8/2026 Week 3. Hi to all and welcome back for week 3 of Saturday Morning Junior Basketball. Just a reminder that there is NO BASKETBALL NEXT WEEK SATURDAY 29/8/2026. We will continue on the following Saturday which is 5/9/2026. We are still looking for some players for the Yr 7/8 and Yr 5/6 teams so if anyone wants a game on the Saturday don't hesitate to get in touch with Lance 021 286 8288.
15/8/2026 Week 2. Welcome to Week 2 of Saturday morning Junior Basketball. Unfortunately, the Holy Trinity Hoopsters club withdrew their teams and will be replaced by the Pick Up teams. If any players in Yr 7/8 and Yr 5/6 are looking for a team to play for let admin know. Great games were played last week and we are looking to do it again.
This week we will introduce the Mercy rule:
* Teams leading by 20 points! (a) If a team is leading by 20 points, after scoring they are to pull their team back to inside their half of the court and begin their defence from there.
(b) Defending team allows the ball to travel over halfway before attempting to initiate defence.
* Teams leading by 40 points:
(a) If a team is leading by 40 points, after scoring, they are to pull their team back to inside their keyhole markings and begin their defence from inside these markings
(b) Defending team allows the ball to travel over halfway before attempting to initiate defence
* Teams leading by 50 points:
(a) If a team is leading by 50 points the game is over and the score at this point is recorded.
(b) Teams are allowed to mix players and continue if game time is still available. No points will be counted.

Start times for each grade will be the same each week where possible.
11:00 am: College, 11:45 Yr 7/8, 12:30 Yr 5/6
Tournament Format for each Grade
College: Double round-robin teams play each other twice, with the winner being the team with the highest game points at the end of the double round-robin. (19/9/2026) Win=3, Draw=2, Loss=1
Yr 7/8 and Yr 5/6: Single round robin teams play each other once with the winner being the highest game points at the end of the single round robin. (12/9/2026) Win=3, Draw=2, Loss=1 (19/9/2026) Yr 7/8 and Yr 5/6 King of the Court games.
