Bernadette is the clubs first life member and it seemed fitting to name one of our boats after her. 

Bernadette is an original Boobop from 2003 who competed at regional and national level until 2010 at the age of 83 - holding the title of most 'senior' paddler to this day.

In 2007 she paddled in Australia at the IBCPC regatta where she hugged the most paddlers, always happy to share her compassion and love.

Bernadette has the warmest soul, she opens her heart to all paddlers and she is still known to give a few tips today. She has devoted her life to helping others, including knitting clothes for premature babies at the hospital. She can be recognised by the way she is always beautifully dressed, and always has her lippy on. Quite often telling us all to look in the mirror (calling us darling) when we put our own lippy on and say "Remember you are precious!"

We are delighted to have the Bernadette cups she donated to the Boobops and Bay Dragons - an absolute privilege to receive.
