High-Performance Coordinator:

Jason Hart

Joined CUWH Executive Committee in 2024.

Jason first pulled on his fins & jumped into the pool to play underwater hockey in 2004 when he started secondary school- it was love at first breath hold! Being a smaller individual, one of the things he loved was the fact that since everyone is a third of their weight underwater, he could beat bigger players if he put his mind to it!

After rising up the ranks through his school, club, and regional teams, Jason played for the NZ U18s and U19s Men's team from 2009-2011. His highlights were captaining a team to win Secondary Schools Nationals, captaining an NZ U18s team to win Trans-Tasmans Championships, and getting a silver medal at Age-group World Championships in the Netherlands.

After taking a quick decade-long break away from the sport, Jason returns full of passion for the game! As the Club's High-Performance Coordinator, Jason wants to get as many players from the region to play top-level hockey as possible! Jason is super approachable so if you want to aim to be in some top teams (South Island Rep Team or NZ Rep Team), have a chat with him on the side of the pool and he will let you know how the club can support you.

In Jason's spare time, he is a student and has some business ventures.
