Schools Hockey
The ultimate hockey development pathway only found in New Zealand!
The next generation is always the most important and there are many opportunities for younger players to develop as they grow into this unusual sport.
Coached Training Sessions
Every Sunday between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., senior members of the club put on their coaching caps to help develop the next generation of Underwater Hockey players.
In these sessions, you will learn the basics of Underwater Hockey, such as positioning, and skills as well as develop your confidence in the pool. You'll start playing some games against the other developing athletes as we aim to get you involved in the Adult sessions once both you and the coaches believe you are ready.
Tournaments
Each year the club aims to send a team of developing and/or school players to the South Island Club Championships in either the novice or C-grade. We also aim to send a team to the Central Schools Competition with the hope that we can get a team to nationals!
Tournaments are the most fun environments you will find yourself in with Underwater Hockey and we encourage all to get involved to make some amazing friends, develop your Underwater Hockey abilities in meaningful games, and have fun while doing so!
