2026 is off to a flying start for all levels of our netball system: Clubs and Schools, Centres, our Zone, and NNZ!
Across all areas, 2026 seems to bring an exciting mix of new people, programmes and ideas with new personnel in staff and volunteer roles, pilot programmes underway, and new systems and structures being tested… balanced with the stability of established foundation competitions, long-serving stalwarts, and celebrations of heritage and tradition. We can't wait to see what this season brings.
Netball WBOP Zone experienced a significant milestone at our AGM on Sunday 29th March, and the re‑establishment of our Board after a period under administration of Netball NZ. Attendees included representatives and observers from 20 Centres alongside Netball NZ staff and board members, new Netball WBOP Zone Board Members, and special guests all coming together for a day of connection, gratitude, learning, and forward momentum,
The Netball WBOP Zone staff team have been busy out and about across the Zone, having already visited 17 of our Centres in-person either at the Centre or meeting locally to plan support during the season ahead. A huge thank you to our WBOP Zone Centres for your warm welcomes and collaborative attitudes to supporting netball for our people.
