Kia ora Koutou,
What an incredible few weeks for netball across our region!
As twilight and summer netball leagues get underway, our Centre Administrators are entering one of their busiest periods as they start planning another amazing year of competition, development and fun. At the same time, the off-season provides valuable opportunities for coaches, umpires and players to continue learning and developing.
Mental Health Awareness Week also reminds us to Top Up Together. Making time to connect with whānau, friends, colleagues and our wider communities strengthen relationships, creates belonging and supports our wellbeing.
Congratulations to our three schools that competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships: St Andrew’s College, who finished 11th; St Margaret’s College, who placed 12th; and Ashburton College, who finished 16th. Reaching this national tournament is an outstanding achievement. A huge thank you to the coaches, managers, umpires, bench officials, volunteers and whānau who supported these teams throughout their journey.
We also congratulate Netball South Canterbury on hosting the South Island Masters Games in Timaru.
Finally, good luck to the Silver Ferns for their upcoming campaigns against the Australian Diamonds and the Net Blacks.
